 Artist Marion Odubiyi specifically crafted this gorgeous illustration by hand for the Clifton Sisters Trilogy. She used a mix-media approach, which included airbrush rendering, the use of oil-based colored pencils and digital software for final detailing.

A note from the Artist

Soon after drawing the image for “The Amber Stone”, I began work on “The Emerald Ring.”

The final book in the Clifton Sisters series gave me a challenge. I was committed to using the same oil based pencils and realistic rendering, but I wanted to add a bit of a theatrical flair that would distinguish this cover from the other two.

I decided for a dramatic pose that would allow me to focus on the emerald ring. I wanted to experiment with the different hues and colors of the green to make it a focal point without overwhelming the rest of the image. I hope I succeeded in conveying the passion this stone brought to the people in the story.

For a number of reasons this image was never used on a cover…until now.

I am honored to finally see this image on the special edition hardcover of “The Emerald Ring” and to make this print available so others can enjoy the spirit behind its creation.
